Campaign success as more NHS dentists opened in Meon Valley

Liz Leffman, prospective Lib Dem MP for Meon Valley, is delighted to have received a letter from the Acting Chief Executive of NHS Hampshire, confirming the opening of two new NHS dental practices in the Waterlooville area. This follows Liz's two year campaign to get more NHS dental provision for local residents.

23,532 speed offences logged in Whiteley in two weeks

Liz Leffman, Prospective Lib Dem MP for Meon Valley, is shocked to have learned that in a two week period at the end of March 2009, a vehicle activated speed detector erected by Winchester City Council on Yew Tree Drive in Whiteley logged 23,530 instances of speeding traffic.

Liberal Democrat campaigners in Durley and Curdridge have welcomed Winchester City Council's amendments to their Local Development Framework Preferred Options which flag up the rural sensitivity of the green fields in the City Council area close to these villages and highlight the fact that they are not suitable for the building of houses..

Liz Leffman condemns top down, centralised housing targets

Liz Leffman, Prospective Lib Dem MP for Meon Valley, has today signed a petition on the Downing Street website, asking Gordon Brown to suspend regional housing targets, and instead to give local councils the power to decide what is best for their own communities.
